2010 BSSA IRON MAN
well ..this years iron man certainly lived up to its name ..leaving many shooters including yours truly wondering what happened to all those missed birds.!!!!
despite the attempts of oxten staff to counteract very blustery conditions on both days ...the targets which are normally top rate at this premier ground ...proved a graveyard for many
this years 2 day 400 target event certainly takes its toll ...it was my first time shooting it , and second time at this ground .....and i can confirm it takes an "iron will" to be iron man champ
NICK MARSDEN ( The wind miester ) with a score of 199 on both days (398/400) made a worthy winner

shooting 200 birds in day 1...... i felt as if my arms and shoulders were heavy ......after a poor round 3 which turned into poorer round 4, 5, 6, 7and 8.... i was looking for places to hide ...so coming along the next day to shoot another 8 rounds takes some doing..
day 2 was a little better in terms of scores , but felt easier as i felt i no longer had anything to lose , prove or make up ...so i enjoyed the day more ......(although two days of shooting 28g shells has given my shoulder a pounding and reminds me to look at some lighter loads for future comps
i will post the scores on the web site as soon as i get them from REG at OXTEN
big thanks to reg and all his staff at oxten , who went out of thier way it seems to ensure all shooters were considered , targets were best they could be , and were well fed and watered
sorry i didnt take any photos
