The Ulster Skeet club was founded in August 2001. This came about when several Northern Ireland, National Skeet competitors were approached in July 2001 by Johnny Walker, founder of the English Skeet Club and were asked would they consider starting a Skeet Club in Northern Ireland.
John Church, Roy Stewart and Richard Dowse floated the idea and it was found to have approval from most of the National Skeet shooters and the Ulster Skeet Club was thus formed.
There is a Skeet Clubs International each year, which is usually held on the second weekend in June.
Not long after, the Scottish club was formed.
